What is Forest School?

Forest School is a child-led, play-based approach to learning outdoors. Children return to the same natural setting over time, building confidence, learning practical skills and developing a deeper connection with nature.

At Creative by Nature, Forest School is led by Siobhán Sloane, a qualified Forest School Leader and Heritage in Schools Specialist. Her approach is rooted in curiosity, creativity and giving children the freedom to explore, play and discover the natural world in their own way.

Sessions might include free play, den building, nature crafts, fire lighting and supported challenges, with activities shaped by the children and the seasons.

“I simply loved this day out, what a way to experience the Burren. The yoga was so enjoyable and the food incredible. Thank you Siobhán for sharing your knowledge of joy of the Burren”

“Today was amazing, went on an incredible nature and food foraging walk with Siobhán. We tasted vetches and wood sorrel, we saw wild thyme, hare bells, self healing herb, wild orchids, wild strawberries and hazelnuts on a hazel tree”
